Bullet Journal: Welcome October

Finally, my favourite season! Bring on the coats, boots, and scarves. I’m excited for October and I actually had some time to sit down with my bullet journal and create a couple of spreads to welcome October. But not before we properly salute September!

September went out with a bang. We had a lice scare at preschool followed by a bad cold (that we are still fighting off). Coupled with 32 degree Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit) weather, September had worn out its welcome!

Looking ahead at our October schedule, it is pretty hectic too. My husband has a few work related trips all in a row and my son and I are heading to Vancouver to see family for a couple of weeks. My son and I travel together just the two of us a lot, so I have figured out some tips and tricks which I will post about soon (probably next week as I start to pack my bag of tricks).

Bullet Journal Challenges on Instagram

I have decided to join a bunch of challenges on Instagram. I am taking part in the #planwithmechallenge which are journaling/planning prompts each day. Some of it is outside of my comfort zone but I hope to complete as many as I can.

I will also be doing a #oodlesofdoodles challenge for October hosted by @the.petite.planner. This month’s theme is obviously Halloween so excited to get started.

I am also moving on to the next step of the modern calligraphy course I signed up for, hosted by The Happy Ever Crafter. One more week to finish the “Show Me Your Drills” course and I can start next section: miniscule letters! There are many different ways to learn and try. I’m enjoy this course because you learn the actual technique behind it. My current calligraphy attempts result from a Skill Share course hosted by Peggy Dean. Fun, quick, and relatively easy to follow, the course was great to add to the knowledge I am currently building.

I’ll be posting pictures on my Instagram account (@mydaubimilllife) as I work toward completing at least one of the monthly challenges and finishing “Show Me Your Drills” before starting miniscule letters.

As you can see by my bullet journal pictures, I have been playing with lettering and doodling as well. I still have a ways to go but pretty proud of what I have accomplished in the last month.

Let me know what you’re working on or if you would like any additional information on any of the challenges.

Happy fall everyone!
